THE DIFFERENCE OF ARABICA COFFEE AND ROBUSTA COFFEE
Arabica beans are the best; Robusta are not so good but serve a purpose as they are blended in small quantities with Arabica to produce richer “crèma” in espresso. They are cheap and widely used in supermarket coffee to keep the cost down, and they have higher caffeine content.
Arabica is distinctly milder and more aromatic. It possesses fewer sharp and bitter tastes than Robusta, and it is therefore considered the superior species by those who cultivate specialty coffees, single estates and varietals.

BACKGROUND OF GAYO ARABICA COFFEE
Gayo is a tribal name that inhabit this area. A majority of people living as farmers Gayo Coffee. Varieties of Arabica coffee species dominate developed by Gayo coffee farmers. Arabica coffee production resulting from the Gayo Land is the largest in Asia Coffee Gayo (Gayo Coffee) is one commodity that comes from the Gayo Highlands. Coffee plantations have been developed since 1908 is thriving in Regency Bener Meriah and Aceh Tengah. Both regions are located at an altitude of 1200 m above sea level has the largest coffee plantations in Indonesia, with a width of approximately 81,000 hectares. Each 42,000 ha in the Bener Meriah regency and the remaining 39,000 ha in Central Aceh Regency. Top dedication and cooperation in maintaining the quality of his Gayo Coffee, Union Gayo Organic Coffee Farmers (PPKO) in the Land Gayo has received the Fair Trade Certified ™ by the International Fair Trade Organization. Certification is increasingly steady the Kopi Gayo Organic Coffee as the best in the world.

Overview of the IMT-GT Subregion
In 1993, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand recognized the potential of the IMT-GT subregion by launching the IMT-GT program of cooperation to accelerate the subregion's economic transformation, through the following:
exploiting complementarities and comparative advantages;
enhancing competitiveness for investments and exports;

promoting tourism;
lowering transport and transaction costs;
reducing production and distribution costs through scale economies

The subregion indeed has vast potential for development, with large amounts of land, abundant labor, rich natural resources and a sizeable internal market of nearly 70 million. These endowments can transform the IMT-GT into a powerful growth magnet when combined with the financial strength and entrepreneurial skills of a dynamic private sector in Central Thailand and Peninsular Malaysia.

Economic complementarities and opportunities in the subregion span many agricultural and industrial products, including rubber, palm, oil, fruits and vegetables, marine products, oil and natural gas, chemicals and wood products.

The Malaysian subregion has strong comparative advantage in plantation agriculture, skill-intensive manufactures, industrial and agro-chemicals, coconut oil, refined palm oil, iron and steel and processed wood products
